Contains the congregation's charter (1875); deeds to seats; newspaper clippings and programs about the dedication of the congregation's synagogue; membership rosters and information; memorial books; a booklet printed on the occasion of the congregation's seventy-fifth anniversary; a report printed by the synagogue's Social Action Committee; a tribute to a president of the congregation, Abraham Jonas, who was also heavily involved in B'nai B'rith and Freemasonry; religious school programs, one of which contains a confirmation prayer (1886); photographs; a minute book (1914) of the congregation's Women's Auxiliary; a membership book (1924) for the synagogue's Sewing Circle; and items from the synagogue's Sisterhood and Fruit and Flower Mission.

Abraham Jonas was born in Rogasen, Posen, Germany in 1855 to Rev. Joachim and Amalia (Dresner) Jonas. He immigrated to the United States when he was 18 and moved to Oakland, California in 1875. He was a merchant (establishing the Hub Department Store), a real estate holder, a civic and political leader, and vice-president of the Bank of Germany of Oakland.
