"Sketches ... of pleasant summer days" at Rye Beach, New Hampshire, done as a serial publication, edited by Sarah H. Adams and Charles E. Griswold, containing local news, advertisements, editorials, criticism, poetry, short stories, etc. These were apparently collected and copied into the present (gilt-edge) volume, with marine drawings and illuminations by "G.G.W."
