A birth and baptismal certificate designed by Hugo Sebald and printed by Ignatius Kohler, circa 1880. The illustrative border includes four vignettes showing scenes of birth, marriage, baptism, and death; also includes images of four angels entwined with decorative floral motifs, and a single dove top and center. The text reads: Certificate of birth & baptism to these two parents, as [William Wolfgang] and his wife [Mary] was born a [daughter] on the [24] day of [September] in the year of our Lord 18[80]. This child was born in [Washington Township Northumber'd] County, in the state of [Pa] in North America, was baptized on the [14] day of [November] 18[80] by the Rev. [J. Schmidt] and received the name of [Mary Elizabeth]. Witnesses present at the act of Baptism: [The parents].
