Consists of correspondence between the British ministers in Washington and various high government officials and military commanders in Canada as selected from Military papers (Series C, 20 volumes between 32-736, 1213, 1236); Executive Council (Series E, item 152); Governor Generals (Series G, 103 volumes between 88-573, registers, letterbooks, and portfolios); Secretary of State (Series S, selections from several offices); Colonial Office 188 (37 volumes between 152-201); and the Sir Charles Bagot papers (volumes 1, 2, 4, 5). The enlargement prints have been interfiled into 47 volumes.
