Alexander Hamilton (1712 - 1756), a graduate of the University of Edinburgh, moved to Maryland in 1739. He practiced medicite and owned an apothecary in Annapolis and was also known as a musician, poet, journalist, and satirst, the founder of the Tuesday Club in Anapolis (1745). On May 30, 1744, Hamilton and his black servant Dromo embarked on a tour of northern colonies.
