Manuscript of autobiographical memoir of John Washington, a former slave, entitled "Memorys Past," describing his life (1838-1862) in Fredericksburg and other locations in Virginia, the capture of Fredericksburg during the Civil War by Union troops, and his subsequent emancipation and work as an aide to General Rufus King.
