Scrapbook containing clippings relating to local and historical events, including Katharine Deering's presidency of the Maine Club at Smith College and other college activities as well as Frank Deering's unique library; constitution, by-laws, correspondence, membership records, secretary's records, and scrapbook of College of Club of Saco, of which she was secretary; travel journal (1936) relating to one of her several trips to Europe with her aunt Helen Deering Love, including botanical specimens found; and records (1940-1946) of the American Red Cross, York County Chapter and its Saco branch reflecting Deering's activities during World War II.

Frank Cutter Deering (1866-1939) was born in the same year his father, Joseph Godfrey Deering (1816-1892), founded Deering Lumber. F.C. eventually took over the entire Deering business after his father's death and ran it until his own death in 1939.
