Lyman M. Chitty diaries, 1917-1922.

The first volume (14 Oct. 1918-3 Mar. 1919), is actually a continuation of the second vol. and details Chitty's experiences in France and return to the U.S., detailing the rough weather and seasickness experienced on the return voyage and leave in New York City where he attended a number of musical shows. Second vol. (17 Feb. 1917-11 Aug. 1918; 18 July 1919-29 June 1922) also contains entries on military life but chiefly focuses on Chitty's return to civilian life in Everett, Wash., and life as a student at University of Washington.
