Log/journal (1854 Sept. 20-Oct. 10; 1854 Nov. 11-1855 Feb. 17), kept by George Harrison Ritchie, purser, who switched from the John P. Kennedy to the Powhatan Sept. 1854, reassigned to the John Hancock until Nov. 1854 when he returned to the Powhatan until Feb. 1855, again transferring to the John Hancock until Nov. 1855 when he returned to San Francisco.
