Copybook of official letters and dispatches (1774 Dec. 10-1777 Sept. 19) chiefly from Lord Dartmouth and Lord George Germain to Carleton as Governor of Quebec and Commander of the British Army in Canada. Also includes several letters from King George III. The letters relate to such topics as the governing of Quebec and military matters dealing with the outbreak of the American Revolution, especially the capture of Fort Ticonderoga and the defense of Quebec.
