A civil engineer for the Metcalf and Eddy Engineering firm in Boston, Bethlehem Steel Corp. at the Fore River Shipyard in Quincy and the Federal Shipbuilding Co. of New Jersey. In Quincy, he performed design engineering and architectural work on the USS Independence and the USS Constitution.
