Peter Blos papers, 1928-1974.

Historical account of the Hietzing School founded by Dorothy T. Burlingham, Anna Freud, and Eva Marie Rosenfeld in Wattmangasse, Vienna, Austria, in 1927, at which Blos and Erik H. Erikson taught until its closing in 1932; two issues of the school's Christmas literary and art publication; teaching materials prepared by Blos and Erikson; and a photograph and memorial from a reunion of former students and teachers in London, England, in 1972.

Erik Erikson (1902-1994) was an American psychoanalyst, educator, and author. He was born in Frankfurt, Germany to Danish parents who separated before his birth, but he grew up in Karlsruhe, Germany. He used his stepfather’s last name, Homburger, until the late 1930s. In 1930 he married Joan Mowat Serson, a Canadian dancer and artist. In 1933 they immigrated from Vienna to the United States.
