John Shirley correspondence, 1755.

Two ALsS (1755 July 20 and September 8-11) written to Robert Hunter Morris, acting British colonial governor of Pennsylvania, by Shirley, a member of the Niagara expedition, reporting on conditions at Oswego, N.Y., the arrival of supplies, activities of the French and Indians, and plans to attack Fort Frontenac, Ont. The earlier letter contains a postscript written by Shirley's father, William Shirley, leader of the expedition and British colonial governor of Massachusetts,
