Vice Admiral Thomas R. Sargent, III, reminiscences relating to his childhood in England and New London, Conn., and his long and distinguished career with the U.S. Coast Guard began at the Coast Guard Academy in 1934 and ended with his retirement in 1974 as Vice Commandant.
