The collection includes diaries used by both Gov. John A. Campbell (1869-1876) and his wife, Isabella "Belle" Campbell (1864-1867); Governor Campbell's military notebook (ca. 1862), correspondence (1864-1880), general orders and circulars (1861-1865), enlistment and service records (1861, 1867), appointment certificates (1863-1866), women's suffrage messge (1872), and other personal and official papers; and Mrs. Campbell's correspondence (ca. 1860-1874, 1877-1882) and samples of her elementary and secondary school work in Philadelphia, Pa. (1854-1862).
