Virgil Derry interview, 1984 July 20.

Derry describes the sixty experimental jumps made with his brother, Frank Derry, in 1939 under contract to the Eagle Parachute Company. The jumps were made over all terrains and under various conditions to determine the feasability of dropping jumpers on fires. He also talks of his previous experience parachuting at county fairs and the hang gliding he has done since.
