The Chicago Resettlers' Committee was established in 1945 for the purpose of aiding in the resettlement of Japanese Americans who were displaced from their homes as a result of U.S. involvement in World War II. When the task of resettlement had been completed, the agency became the Japanese American Service Committee of Chicago in 1959.
