George Edward Morris was born in England, February 25, 1853, and died at Waltham, Massachusetts on July 5, 1916. Mr. Morris was interested in all phases of natural science. He became especially interested in botany through his art work and the use of plants as a basis for design. He studied botany at the Martha's Vineyard Summer School and at the Teachers' School of Science in Boston. His herbarium took the form of sketches of plants in watercolor.
