Mrs. Fitzhugh was the sister of Gov. William Clark and George Rogers Clark. Ann Clark Thurston Farrar was the wife of Dr. Bernard G. Farrar, 1784-1849, first American physician to settle permanantly west of the Mississippi River and a founder of the Saint Louis Medical Society, and was the mother in law of Governor S.T. Samuel Thomas Hauser (1833-1914), born in Kentucky, moved to Missouri in 1853 and became an engineer. He was a member of the Yellowstone Expedition of 1863 and the 1870 Washburn-Langford-Doane Expedition to the Upper Missouri.
