Born in Lexington, Georgia, Isaiah Addison Paschal (1808-1868) was admitted to the bar in 1830. Three years later he moved to Louisiana, where he served on a circuit court and as a legislator. Paschal moved to San Antonio in 1845, where he continued to practice law until being elected to the Texas legislature in 1857.
