Letter to the Trustees of Tualatin Academy, 1851.

Letter from the parents of pupils at Tualatin Academy demanding the removal of Rev. A.N. Williams and those "over which he has control." The letter states that if Rev. Williams is not removed the parents would see about "getting up another school" or sending their children away from home.

The Dallas Cowboys, Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns used Pacific University's facilities for football training camps in the late 1950s to early 1960s. Most of the camps were held in conjunction with exhibition games in Portland. Tualatin Academy (now Pacific University) was a secondary school in Oregon. It was originally founded as a missionary school in 1841 by Harvey L. Clark, who joined with Tabitha Moffatt Brown, the "Mother of Oregon," in turning it into an orphans' school in 1848. In 1854 college classes were added and Pacific University was run concurrently with Tualatin Academy until the latter was closed in 1914.
