Papers of Lucius D. Battle, 1952-1970 (bulk 1952-1963).

Battle's papers contain forty-three letters from Dean Acheson, written between 1952 and 1963 and in 1970. The collection also contains a copy of a letter from Robert Schuman to Acheson, dated March 5, 1953; a letter from Battle to Acheson which suggests editorial changes in Acheson's forthcoming book, A Democrat Looks at His Party; and a copy of a speech by Ben Hill Brown, Jr., American Consul General to Turkey, given to the Istanbul Rotary Club on December 20, 1960.
