Financial record of a small farm owned by Whitaker in southern Halifax County, N.C., and particularly the record of hired farm labor; together with general farm expense accounts and accounts payable to Enfield, N.C., merchants. Includes special accounts for cotton picked and sold and the weight and cost of cotton seed planted. Persons represented include Whitaker's brother, Clifton L. Whitaker, and Patty Whitaker, her oldest son Granville, and her younger children, members of a black tenant family who worked on the property.
