Personal papers and political records of the Barrett family featuring the life and career of Frank A. Barrett. A significant portion of the collection deals with Sen. Barrett's years in the U.S. Congress (1943-1950 and 1953-1959) and the events of the period, however many of the materials illustrate the activities and accomplishments of the family from Senator Barrett's youth to the careers of his children, Frank A. Barrett, a surgeon; James Emmett Barrett, a federal judge; and Marialyce Tobin (Mrs. Richard Tobin), an attorney. Includes scrapbooks, newspaper clippings, correspondence, and various topical files.
