Personal papers associated with Ruth and Billy Ambrose, a husband and wife dancing team, originally from Youngstown, Ohio, including genealogical materials of the Ambrose, Buchanan, Rogers, Whetson, and Zahner families, memoirs of Ruth Marion Ambrose entitled Dancing Through Life, written by Ruth Madigan, newspaper articles about the Ambrose's dance and vaudeville act, including copy of handbill for their return performance (1938) in Youngstown at the Palace Theater, and photographs of the Ambroses, in dancing poses, taken by Maurice Seymour, of Chicago, Ill.; together with information concerning the Smith Brewery (Youngstown) and the Smith family, including brewery advertisements, obituaries, and personal papers of Dr. Henry Slosson, his wife, Mary (Smith) Slosson (of the Smith Brewery family), and their adopted daughter Marion (also known as Mary) Rogers (Slosson) Zahner Whetson (mother of Ruth Ambrose and collection donor June (Whetson) Stahl).
