Correspondence, reports, memoranda, lecture notes, printed matter, and other papers, relating to Rice's service as a social worker in Washington State and New York City (1913-1917), his teaching career at Dartmouth College, University of Chicago, and University of Pennsylvania (1923-1933), his government service as assistant director of the Bureau of the Census (1933-1935), chairman of the Central Statistical Board (1935-1940), and assistant director of the Bureau of the Budget for Statistical Standards (1940-1954), and a member of the United Nations Statistical Commission (1946-55), and to the Surveys and Research Corporation, Washington, D.C., of which he was president.
