Will, military and citizenship papers, wedding certificates, blueprints, baptismal certificates, legal documents, photographs, tools, and other materials, relating to Maria and Pietro Botto and other family members, Italian American silk workers, involved in the 1913 strike in the Paterson, N.J., silk mills, who when denied free speech and assembly in Paterson offered their home in Haledon, N.J., for use as a haven for some of the 24,000 strikers for a period of over five months. Includes photographs illustrating working people in the late 19th-early 20th century, items pertaining to family life, and information concerning the American Labor Museum/Botto House National Landmark which was created in 1982 because of its role in fighting for an 8 hour day, the abolishment of child labor, and better working conditions.
