J. Thos. Scharf letter to Dear Mr. Dawson, 1883 May 9.

Scharf writes to Dawson, 9 May 1883, acknowledging his letter, reporting on his recent trip to St. Louis and his most recent book, and promising to consider the proposed history of Westchester County when his partner, Mr. Everts, returns from the west; he goes on to describe, confidentially, his plan to write a history of the city of New York, and asks Dawson's opinion of the project. On letterhead of the Sesqui-centennial of Baltimore, Press Headquarters.
