Jeannette Augustus Marks (August 16, 1875 – March 15, 1964) was an American professor at Mount Holyoke College. Lilian Whiting (1847-1942) was an American writer, editor, activist and journalist. Born in Niagara Falls, N. Y., Whiting is best known for being one of the first women to edit a newspaper, and for writing the first biography of Kate Field.
