Naomi Royde-Smith was born in Llanwrst, Wales, and moved to London as a child and was educated at a private school in Geneva, Switzerland. From 1904-1922 she worked at the WESTMINSTER GAZETTE, serving as its literary editor and drama critic. From 1924-1927 Royde-Smith worked as a drama critic for THE OUTLOOK.
