Henry Willson Temple Papers, 1892-1952 1912-1933.

The Henry Willson Temple papers have been arrangred in seven series as follows: correspondence, nominations and campaigns, congressional business, pensions, post offices, writings, and published materials. The majority of the collection relates to issues that affected his constituents in Washington and Greene counties during the time he was in office (1912-1932), although some records have a more national and even international relevance due to his membership on the Committee of Foreign Affairs and his interest in international politics.

Henry Willson Temple was born in Belle Center, Ohio. He graduated from Geneva College in 1883 and from the Allegheny Theological Seminary in 1887. Although ordained as a Reformed Presbyterian minister, in 1891 he became a pastor at the First United Presbyterian Church in Washington, PA.
