Jacob Fisher letter, 1850.

Typescript copy of a letter from Jacob Fisher, postmaster of the Village Post Office, Pointe Coupee Parish, La., to his brother Frederick Fisher. Letter describes his trip by schooner from New Orleans, La., to San Francisco, Calif. He discusses economic and social conditions in Sacramento, Calif., soon after the discovery of gold.
