Collection consists of correspondence, accounting ledgers, business and legal records, and other printed material related to William Denver McGaa. Born on March 8, 1859, McGaa is reputed to have been the first child born in the settlement that later became Denver, Colorado. His father, William McGaa as a mountain man who helped organize the first town company at Denver. William Denver McGaa spent much of his life among the Lakota on the Pine Ridge Reservation in the cattle trade. He died on May 9, 1925.
