Margaret Stones native flora of Louisiana collection, 1975-2002.

All items in this collection pertain to Margaret Stones' work on the Native Flora of Louisiana watercolors, their subsequent exhibition, and reproduction for Louisiana State University. The Billy J. Harbin letters (1977-2002) consist of letters from Margaret Stones to Harbin. The Paul Murrill papers (1976-2001) are comprised of corresondence between he and Stones, memoranda, printed items, proposals, lists and photographs. The Margaret Stones papers are primarily correspondence.

Margaret Stones, botanical artist, served for twenty-five years as the principal illustrator for Curtis's Botanical Magazine and worked under commission for the Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew, England.
