Collection includes: artwork, correspondence with authors and publishers, ephemera, and manuscripts. Artwork consists of pen and ink or pencil drawings, preliminary sketches, layouts of pages, and draft and finished paintings all housed in portfolios or tipped into handmade albums. Barry Lopez is a writer of both fictional short stories and non-fiction works. His awards are numerous: American Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters, Guggenheim Fellowship, a Lannan Foundation Award, John Burroughs Medal for Of Wolves and Men, and National Book Award for Arctic Dreams.
