Moody, Silas, 1742-1816

Silas Moody was born in Newbury, Mass., the son of William and Anna (Hale) Moody. He graduated from Harvard in 1761 and taught school for a year in what is now Buxton, Maine. He returned to Newbury and was ordained for the ministry in 1771. He then became minister of the First Congregational Parish in Arundel (now Kennebunkport), Maine, where he remained until his death in 1816. From the description of Sermons, 1772-1791. (Unknown).
