Commission for the continuance and erection of grammar schools and hospitals, under the Act of Parliament of 1 Edward VI for dissolution of colleges, etc. which provided for commissions to assign lands towards the maintenance of schoolmasters, preachers, etc. (Chantries Act of 1547). Also includes the "maynten[a[nce of peers, jutties, walles or bankes agaynst the see."
