Photograph collection, 1889-1895, of Frederick Fraley Sharpless, a former professor of the Michigan Mining School in Houghton, Michigan and mining engineer consultant. Includes an album of cyanotype photographs as well as a collection of glass plate slides depicting local and mining scenes of Michigan's Upper Peninsula, taken during his tenure at the Michigan School of Mines. The photographs duplicate most of the glass slides and provide captions for identification.
