Edward W. Moulton scrapbooks, 1874-1905.

Collection consists of two scrapbooks primarily containing clippings, with some flyers and letters, documenting Moulton's career as an athlete and coach. The letters date from 1894 to 1903 and include reference letters for Moulton and some that he received from athletes. There are also clippings pertaining to bicycle races by women cyclists in Chicago and New York, ca. 1896, and clippings on Moulton's dogs that he trained to do tricks.

After his service in the Civil War and as a government scout, Moulton competed professionally as a sprinter and trained and managed football, track, and cycling teams. He came to Stanford University in 1903 to coach the track team and in his eleven years there made the program one of the country's most respected.
