Stevenstone catalogues of books, circa 1797.

Manuscript catalogue of the contents of the library of John Rolle, Baron Rolle of Stevenstone, at Stevenstone House. The catalogue is arranged according to the library's shelving system, within which volumes are organized by format. Author and title are given, usually without imprint or date (except for serials). The latest dated item is a London directory of 1788. The collection was strong in the Classics, neo-Latin authors, history, topography, travel, theology, natural history, science and agriculture. A "List of books" on a preliminary page includes this catalogue along with two other catalogues (not present) for Stevenstone House. Also listed are catalogues for Sarsden and Hadscot.
