Sketches made by G.F. Lyon during Sir William Edward Parry's second expedition to the Arctic in 1821 and1822. Sketches are in graphite with some yellow wash; captions are in pen and brown ink. All are undated. The sketches mostly relate to the life and customs of the Inuit people, and to the local wildlife, although there are also a few sketches of the ships themselves, and one of the crew playing leapfrog.

Sir William Parry's second expedition to the Arctic began in May 1821, on board the HMS Fury and HMS Hecla. Parry and his crew departed from England intending to pass through Hudson Strait and explore the territory to the west of Baffin Island in search of the Northwest Passage.
