Thornton Wilder letters to Leonard and June Trolley, 1944-1973.

Letters from Thornton Wilder to his friends Leonard and June (Greeve) Trolley. The earliest letters concern the couple's wedding and their plans to relocate to the United States. The bulk of the letters date from between January 1948 and June 1949. Written during the Trolleys' time in New York City, they contain professional and personal advice; predictions of Trolley's success as an actor; news of Wilder's activities; plans for visits; and discussion of the couple's eventual move back to England. The later letters are briefer and consist of personal news and holiday greetings.
