A course of navigation : written under the tuition of Mr. William Lambert : begun on the 5th March 1829 : finished 29th April 1829, 1829-1831.

Bound manuscript notebook kept by John Rodgers, Jr. for an 1829 course in marine navigation taught by William Lambert. The notes for Lambert's course detail geometrical propositions, traverse and plane sailing, middle latitude sailing, and trigonometrical and geometrical problems related to marine calculation and navigation. The last pages in the volume are notes from an 1831 course taught by "Mr. Rodriguez Mahon" on plane geometry and spherical triangles.
