Manuscript, on paper, in at least two secretary hands, containing copies of several political texts dating from the reign of James I. Contents include Vox Populi, or, News from Spaigne, by Thomas Scott; a letter from Thomas Alred to the Marquis of Buckingham, 1610, attacking "the Spanish marriage;" two letters from "the Great Mogoll" [Jahangir] to James I, 1617, 1618; a copy of an oration by Ambrogio Spinola to his troops before a battle; a copy of "The Arraignment of Sir Walter Raleigh Knight," identified as Sir Thomas Overbury's version; copies of six letters by Sir Walter Raleigh, including two to King James and one written to his wife after his condemnation; "The Manner and Forme of th'Examination and Death of William Earle of Gowrie...;" and a poem, "Upon Sr. Francis Bacon Lord Virrolam and Chancelor of England," which opens with "When you awake dull Brittaines and behold."
