Printed document completed in manuscript. Top half of page is an Application for Membership to Charity Lodge No. 6, submitted by George E. Childs, a 25-year-old engineer from Stockton, on September 24, 1865. The lower half of page is a "Report on Application" that recognizes Childs as a worthy candidate and recommends his election to the lodge. The Report is signed by R. R. Lippincott, C[harles] O. Burton, and C. P. Davis. Dated October 1, 1865.
