Papers of Edmund Lodge Clarencieux, [ca. 1720-1840].

Volume of papers by and collected by Edmund Lodge, most apparently pertaining to his "Portraits of Illustrious Personages of Great Britain" (1821). Items include notes by Lodge on 17th century history and heraldry; letters to Lodge by Francis Allison and Isaac D'Israeli; a copy of a letter from Marie Antoinette to "Madame Elizabeth;" "Heads of Mr. Pitts Speech in the House of Commons;" and several poems, including "A Letter from the D. of Wharton to Mr Lloyd," "Lines Written to a Lady upon seeing her Carriage with a Knight's Helmet," and "To the Memory of Mrs. Dorothy Wentworth."
