Chaplain to his Grace the Duke of Northumberland, and Author of the Reliques of ancient English Poetry, in 3 Volumes 12. With my Answers"; the letters are primarily concerned with two subjects: 1) the historical origin of the "Ballad of the Dragon of Wantley", of which Percy had published a version in his Reliques, and 2) the history of the Wilson family, to which Percy believed himself to be related.
