Manuscript, in a single hand, of a journal documenting the activities of the House of Lords between 30 January 1620/1 to February 1621/2. The manuscript documents lists of names on Parliamentary committees; acts sent up by the House of Commons, including an act for the better repressing of drunkenness and an act for the free trade and traffic of Welsh cottons throughout England and Wales; and records of proceedings against individuals, such as Richard Camell, a clerk, for writs against several Lords, Sir Francis Mitchell for extortion, and Sir Giles Mompesson for monopoly and graft. The manuscript also includes a list of corruptions charged against the Lord Chancellor, Sir Francis Bacon, and his impeachment. Laid in at the beginning of the manuscript is a copy of the King's first speech in Parliament in 1621.
