[Materials for the history of Anglo-Norman England, 1066-1272], [late 17th century].

Manuscript, in a single hand, of a chronological history of Anglo-Norman England compiled from copies of a large number of Latin manuscript sources and comprising more than 3,000 pages. Major sources of material include works by William of Malmesbury; Simeon of Durham; Hector Boethius; Eadmer; and John de Brompton. The last four volumes are largely derived from the works of Matthew Paris. Gaps for the years 1136-53, 1178-89 and 1200-1216 suggest that three volumes are lacking; in the fifth volume, the years 1160-72 are omitted. The volumes are accompanied by an extensive modern list of sources for the work.

10 v. ; 31 x 20 cm.
