Manuscript, in a single hand, of two critical and abridged editions of Byron's poem Childe Harold's Pilgrimage. The first volume includes a lengthy preface. The abridged poem is followed by explanatory notes on each of the cantos, including relevant verses by other authors such as Cowper, Milton, Dryden, and Southey. In one case, the editor provides a series of verses on the marriage of the Adriatic which he notes are partly "Lord Morpeth's" and partly his own. He also provides commentary on the quality of the text. The second volume contains a different abridged version of the whole poem, as well as lists of errata. At the end of the volume is a line index.
